House of Booze & Home of Cheers

For 25 years the Hubster and I have hosted an annual weekend-long Family & Friend Feaster Easter gathering.  And Saturday fun usually involved some sort of 'field trip'. This year, however, found us at home, alone. Thanks Covid-19 (sarcasm). Damned virus.

HOWEVER, the current challenges and limitations lead to some creative, out of the box thinking and soon a stay-at-home-field-trip plan was put together. Hubster and I would 'bar hop' without ever leaving our home! Go us!!!

We renamed 10 rooms (including the garage, patio and deck) with sorta clever bar-like names. and split the drink and snack menu planning (adding an extra layer of challenge to only use what we already had on hand) between the two of us. I even made signs!

Saturday morning was filled with cocktail prepping, snack making, room arranging and getting dressed up. And then. . .

We grabbed our travel nip-nip (aka a Grand Marnier bottle in its special cozy-coozie), exited the house, hopped in the party van, made a pass around the cul-de-sac, parked in our driveway and. . . .

ready to start The House of Booze tour!

First up, mimosas in the living room

with smoked salmon and cream cheese topped with tiny tomato slices (and a sprinkling of dill weed) on buttery crackers.

Next stop. . . around the corner and my ksyardbird Studio

with homemade coffee liquer, a bit of Mexican chili syrup, and a splash of sparking water topped with a squeeze of orange (I really do need to come up with a name for my cocktail creation. . . help? Comment below with suggestions). For snack, we had fresh apple and pear slices dipped in homemade vanilla-caramel sauce. Sweet!!

And then on to

aka the basement garage (ironically, the room with the most bar appropriate decor. Sort of).

Hubster poured Copper Barrel shots (we skipped snacks on this one. . . just seemed like the right thing for the standing room only space - LOL!)

The old air compressor makes a most appropriate - inappropriate cocktail  table, would you say??

And as the next 'bar-room' is (was?) still in remodeling-construction mode, we'll be just

and enjoying a couple Harveywallbangers and mixed nuts while perching on dropcloth covered saw horses. Classy!

Time for some fresh air!

Beer, snack mix (which we ignored as we were pretty focused on the big ol' bottle of beer from a local brewery), and patio party tunes (thanks Hubster for being a master DJ!) So happy-happy the cloudy and iffy weather allowed us to hang out til we emptied that tasty bottle of beer.

Movin' on up. . . .

And this is where things really got to swinging. Dark and Stormys (stormIEs???) in our cups,

bacon wrapped shrimp on the grill,

and dance music on the speaker. Best. Bar. EVER! Oh. wait. Yeah. Still The Best!!!

Then, just like that, cups are empty, shrimps are gone and what goes up, usually goes down. . . so a quick trek through the house and down the steps to

Fuzzy bears (homemade coffee liquer, topped with milk and a splash of Coca Cola) and tasty tortilla roll ups in Hubster's recently (dang near) finished office!

The Man mixing it up and keeping to the beat - shake it, baby!!! Shake it good!!

(full disclosure, while more pics are to follow - this is the last cocktail of the eve for yours truly. . . with several bar-rooms left untapped. All. The. Fun!! but it had to come to an end. sigh.)

From one office to another - next stop, my office

Old-fashioneds (I mixed one for Hubster, but saved mine for another day - or something like that) and cucumber sandwiches.

And then it was lights out and nighty-night time for me. What a Fantastic day Hubster & I had!

And, just in case you were wondering. . .
if we had continued barhopping, we would have had to

with screaming orgasms (*blush*) and fresh berries.

And then

where pickle-backs (and Hubster's own cold-smoked pepperjack cheese on crackers) were waiting. . .

We had nicknamed the kitchen No Leftovers - but it was Sunday brunch before we found ourselves there (sort of, we actually opted to enjoy the beautiful Sunday weather and ate brunch on the deck) with some delish sauted shrimp and cheesy grits. . .

. . . but no cocktails. That's orange juice and nothing but orange juice in that wee-glass, folks. Orange. Juice.

What a wacky, unique, creative and fun Easter weekend!! Can you figure out which one of us planned the menu for each bar-room? Leave your guess in the comments below. :-)

And as much fun as Hubster and I had, we are looking forward to throwing a bigger-than-ever Feaster Easter weekend full of more family, more fun and more food in 2021!

So much Easter love, Friends & Fam!
We WILL see you next year!!

Hubster & Robin
